(Not So) Final Thoughts on Minimalism/Vegetarian May

What is a Vegetarian? A person who eats only side dishes.

It’s almost June! This means that my month of vegetarianism is almost over! But ironically enough, I am not exactly dying to gorge myself with all the meats. I literally did not eat a single bite of meat in the last 31 days, and I didn’t miss it with the ferocity I’d expected.  I knew

Minimalism / Vegetarianism May Update

Minimalism, as a lifestyle, is the art of letting go.

“Minimalism is the intentional promotion of what we most value and the removal of anything that distracts from it.” –Joshua Becker So we are halfway through the month of May and my twin journeys of minimalism and vegetarianism are going rather well! To help me through Minimalism May, I found a 30-day minimalism task calendar

BBQ Chicken Nachos

BBQ Chicken Nachos

Ever since I threw together these //BBQ pulled pork nachos// a couple years ago, I have been wanting to do a BBQ chicken version. I typically prefer BBQ chicken over BBQ pork. So I wanted to put a new spin on it. These nachos feature my favorite //pickled red onions//, spicy pickled jalapenos, and a

French Onion Zoodle Bake

French Onion Zoodle Bake

This dish popped my zoodle cherry. I have been wanting to try zoodles for a while now, but I hadn’t quite found the right recipe until I found this one. I love alfredo sauce too much to cover zoodles with it. I might try a Bolognese sauce on zoodles, but for this month, we need

BBQ Chicken Quesadilla

BBQ Chicken Quesadillas

Just in time for Cinco de Mayo, I have a yummy Mexican recipe for you!! A little while ago I made a batch of slow-cooked BBQ chicken for my husband’s work lunches.  And it turned out I’d made just a bit too much.  Like he wasn’t going to eat it all before it went bad.

Minimalism in May

Going back to a simpler life is not a step backward.

“Clutter has a way of sucking the energy right out of you and replacing it with feelings of chaos.  Clutter is an often-unrecognized source of stress that prompts feelings of anxiety, frustration, distraction, and even guilt, so give your home and office a clutter makeover, purging it of the excess papers, files, knick knacks and

Black Bean and Green Chile Enchiladas

Black Bean and Green Chile Enchiladas

So here’s some news for ya – my husband and I are going VEGETARIAN for the entire month of May.  ?  *gasp*  ?  Yes!  We are! Aaron adopted a project I did a few years ago, where instead of trying to abide by a few new year’s resolutions for an entire year, I tried to

About SFB

Hi! My name is Cristin. I love food, photography, and writing. I hope I make you want to eat!

More About Me

  • A very slutty thanksgiving!
  • FRIDA FRIDAYS 🤩 after a very long week I felt like some nachos and enchiladas so that’s what I got. 🥰 Frida’s in Telford hit the spot tonight 🙌🏼
  • OMG I WISH you guys could have tasted this tomato sandwich! Fresh from my garden, it was the tastiest tomato I think I’ve ever grown! I’m so proud of my tomatoes this year - no blossom end rot in sight and tons of big, beautiful tomatoes that I’ll use to make tomato sauce that will hopefully last us into next summer. 🥰

This year we grew Amish Paste, San Marzano, and Celebrity slicers 🥰
  • This is, hands down, without a doubt, my favorite summer dinner. My husband marinated skirt steak in lime juice, olive oil, spices, and cilantro. Then I make a delicious chimichurri to top it off with. And he grills peppers and onions, and I make my favorite cilantro potatoes. It’s just 🤌🏼🥰🫶🏼
  • Two cucumber plants this year have yielded me over 25 jars of pickles… and I have probably 25 more jars to make! My cucumber plants are dying off now, which will give me a bit of a reprieve in the canning kitchen until tomatoes hit next month 😱

It’s a busy time on the farm but I love it and wish I could spend more of my time doing all of it. 🫶🏼
  • Jealous?

This is the @huskrestaurant cheeseburger… I will link to it in my stories 🤩 a few times a year we make a batch of these and freeze them. I’ve modified the sauce a little to compensate for ingredients I can’t find here, but it’s still amazing. Absolutely worth the effort!!
  • When you go on vacation, do you ever crave big salads when you get home? We do. Might be all that rich, delicious food we filled our bellies with 🤣 anyway, here’s my favorite salad ever!! Spring mix, English cucumbers, pico de gallo, chopped rotisserie chicken, and a little bit of shredded cheese. I’ll drizzle chipotle ranch on top of this and gobble it down real quick! 🤤
